For the REst of the week Linda couldnt do sports, there was too much going on with Lyles birthday, the kids' charity-bake-out and her big clear out of the attic. That was sport as wel with the lifting and shifting and walking up and down stairs. Since she didn't meet her sports-mad aquaintance, she had a lot to hear on their way to the "killer"-class.
There had been another near fatal accident with one of the machines, a seat couldn't be adjusted at first and when it finally worked and teh wights were in use, the seat just broke down. Her first idea was, that it was someone of her weiht and felt sympathy, but on inquiery she was told, that it was one of the modeltypes. Somewhere between a Rubelns-figure and a stick of wood. So a weight-problem was out.
They arrived, changed and chatted and went to warm up. That day, the worst that happened was a gymnastic-ball bursting under the weight of some hulk type, but that was it. There was too much air in the ball.
Over the next two weeks though, ther where at least three more accidents on machines. People began to worry and check machines very thoroughly befor using them. Some machines were only braved by the very daring. Some people of course tried to get out of their contracts "for safety reasons". But it did not work out.
In the third week, Linda was amgling along on the treadmill, accompanied by her favourite audiobook: "Persusasion" by Jane Austen. At exactly the moment, when Louisa had her accident, there was such aloud shriek, that she wondered, wether it had alswaysbeen so loud on her i-Pod or if she had the voume on too loud. She was about to check that, when she saw a lot of people pointing to or running towards the treadmill beside hers.

What had happened? She slowed her "mill" and only then dared to look to her left. But though she heard the people and saw it move, there was nobody on it. The people where looking towards the wall behind it, where someone seemed to lie. She asked someone nearby and got an iritated look. While someone entirely else said:"Didn't you see? It was right beside you. Suddenly Grayson was flung off the machine against the wall, hitting his head." Linda looked about her, while she asked, who called a doctor. Sean told her, that he did and the police as well. "This does not look like an accident. The machine is still running.". Then, raising his voice, he asked everyone to back off and told them, that they all would have to stay, until the police had iterrogated them. They should all get changed, the team offered free drings for all there.
"Fortunately it wasn't all taht full today, so the changing-room wasn't too packed." Shelley said, while going with Linda. "But it is horrible. Just think: you were on a treadmill. It could have happened to you!" Linda suddenly felt queazy. That was before the world went black. Did she hear yet another scream?
That's it. Sorry, but my computer didn't work the whole weekend, so it couldn't be done before today. I hope, you like it.
