It's raining again

Don't own it... :-)

I don't know about your place, but it is raining here. Well, no matter. I went walking with my girls. Especially, since I had bought a new pair of walking shoes. The went down in price from 99.99 € to 39.99 €. A very good buy, wasn't it? It was.

I also bought a couple of T-shirts and a sweater and a lot of Stuff from Gina Laura. That is a shop, which specializes in clothes that can be combined in multiple ways. And for my size, which is NOT XS, rather the other side of the scale, they always have nice things, not expensive and well fitting. Not dowdy either. Plus, since I am not picking them up before next Wednesday, I get the birthday-discount of 20%. So I like that.

I am also thinking about buyin an e-reader for myself. But I don't know yet. on the other hand: space in my shelves is getting tight. I guess, I will only buy books of authors, that I have some of already. And the others I will buy as e-book. So I would by the real paperback of Ben Aaronovitch's fourth book about PC Peter Grant (very good, really and I am not even into supernatural stories), but I would get the other books by Jennifer Colgan as e-book. Because I only have one paperback and one audiobook of hers. So I will have the books, but they won't swell my shelves. I will also buy paperbacks of Georgette Heyer, whenever I can get them, but Nora Roberts I would buy as e-book.

But living without real books I don't like. I like the feeling of turning the page and the rustling sound that makes. Only, when I travel, I will certainly find it more comfortable to take just the e-reader, but several stories with me. :-) And my i-Pod, with my audiobooks. Loveley. :-)

So you can see: things are looking up. There are ups and downs in life. I found a clip out of a film with Donald O'Connor (I like Melvin) and there a little girl sings it. (I do not - as ever own it). Well, I will end this post with that song.

I've been listening

to a song, that I had recently downloaded on my i-Pod. It is from Buddy Holly and I always liked it.

I do not own it

Well, I listened to it more closely and I just had to laugh, because it actually reminded me of my situation. You have to exchange "last Septembre" for "that first Septembre". But in many aspects it really fits to that course for which I failed that last crucial exam. And you know what: it really does not matter any more. I can try again on another line and I have a place, where I can work and might even be able to start next week.

Still, listen to this song, read the lyrics and if you don't think "lover" but advanced course, you got it....

Do you know this feeling about songs, I wonder? You hear a song, and it seems to fit to you. Sometimes things only seem to fit, but often they fit exactly or fit, if you exchange some words. For instance, if you exchange:
"I can't stop loving you" for "I CAN stop loving you", than it fits me, maybe you or some of you as well.
But recently I heard a very nice song by Michael Bublé, let me see, if I can find it....

I do not own it!!

Up to a point, it does fit with my experiences. Yes, even if you consider that often mentioned course, because I did get a lot out of it. Anyway, in the end, Mr. Bublé and I drift drastically apart at the point where he sings about having "a beautiful woman beneath me". Since I am female myself and do not happen to be interested in women that way, that was the point where I had to say: no sorry sir, that doesn't do it for me. And then break into laughter. And I am feared - in my family - for my outbreaks of laughter. They can be very long.... :-)

So long, I'll write another day...

Pick yourself up - Dust yourself off

start all over again

I do not own it!

Ever since I saw the film "Swing Time" with Ginger and Fred, I was just mad about the dancing scene on that particular song. But this post is really about picking oneself off. No, up. and then dust off. Left stuff out.

As I wrote in my last post, I blew my last exam. This means, that I did not finish my Bachelor studies successfully. Now, I could say, that those las three years where for nothing. But that is not true.
This was an advanced study course for me. So for one: I just go back where I came for. I am not out on the street.
For two: I actually got a promotion during the course due to my efforts. And I would not have gotten that as fast as I did, otherwise.
For three: I learned a lot. Not just law-stuff and learn-stuff. I learned about people and work and most of all, I learned about myself and my friends or so-called-friends.
For four: I met a lot of nice people and added a couple of new friends. And I learned to value different points of view. Also I found out my so-called-friend as mentioned in "for three".

Finding that out, was my picking up. So I lost. I am not going to graduation-ceremony, I won't earn more money in future, I will not have so very much more interesting work.

But, adding to the above mentioned plusses: I get back the money for the tickets. I actually have more than enough money to live and enjoy on and though the work might not be as interesting, I won't have as much responsibility either.
Also: I keep my friends and experiences and a job. I don't have to start ALL over again, looking on it from a purely economical point. I have to start in my planning and arranging my life. But since I love to plan, that's no hardship. So I am actually already picked up and dusted off. I have started to "start over again" yesterday.

I like it, that one gets new chances in life. And who knows what it was good for? I am happy, by the way for all my friends, new and old ones, who did pass successfully They do deserve it!

Added to Google+

My new Blogger-Name is now Muddelheaded Wombat. If you search by name. But the blog is still called Just some ideas....

It's official

I did not pass that last exam. So I have ended my apprentice-ship, but not successfully. Ah well. It is at least as I have expected. So I am not really in shock. AND I got permission to go home to relax from the news. I didn't think it at first, but it does help, so that I did.

Which gives me time to do a new blogpost. Nice for you.

As to blogposts I am planning to do these on a more regular basis. I will stick with adding a video, but I will also try to write about some definite topic. These might be religious, they are unlikely to be political and I do hope, they won't be judgmental. They are only my oppinion though at any rate. I do not expect anyone to share my oppinions. Thoughts are free. Everybody has their own and they may not be agreeing with mine or with others. So you don't have to like my oppinions. All I ask is, that you keep comments friendly. You may of course write, if you think an oppinion of mine personally hurtful. But I can write here and now: whatever I might write in future, I do not intend to be hurtful and I apologize in advance, should I be so inadvertantly. Still, if you think I wrote hurtful and want to help prevent that in future, tell me.

It is impossible to make others like everything one says or not, so there is only left to try not hurt people. Which is, why hurtful comments, at least those that are obviously meant to be hurtful, will be deleted.

And since the sun is shining and my mood is rising, let this post end on a sunny note or at least one, that is happier. As always, I do not own the clip.

In a about a week

I shall be on holiday again. Yeah!!! I am going to Giethoorn. Very nice town. Sort of the Venice of the Netherlands. We have rented - as a family - a very nice house by a canal. In hot summer time this year, so that we can have a BBQ or more outside and watch the boats go by. Very nice.

We were there last year and it was very cold. Too cold to sit outside for sure. So this year we opted for summer, sun and outdoor-activities. Plus, this year we also take my nephew and niece with us. New sort of babysitting.

My family will travel a little sooner than I, as I have a day for the apprentices to go to and the bachelorette-party of my friend. So I am allowed to travel later. But my big luggage will be taken ahead. I'll only take the washing stuff and things to read with me.

I am meanwhile back from London and I did some heavy washing since then. And window-cleaning and general cleaning and stuff.
London was great as always, but very hot. Also, we had booked a room for four and that meant, that two had to share a bed. Thus it happened, that I shared a bed with my sister which I had never done in my life, as far as I remember. Or only to get a bedtime-story read.

Well, it was hot, it was tight, but it was great fun and nobody really complained. We were in London and personally I just love the town. Not wishing to slight other towns, but this one is my favourite. Closely followed by Sydney (Australia), Florence (Italy) and Birmingham (GB).
Oh and certainly Bridgend in Wales (GB).

Now for some holiday video I don't own. Not that I ever own anything.
We didn't get there, but we thought about it:

It's a two-parter. But one shouldn't miss any of it. It's from the Disney-Movie: Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Or in german: Die tollkühne Hexe in ihrem fliegenden Bett. Meaning something like: The daring witch on her flying bed... :-)

Great film, always worth to be watched.

Since before I gon on holiday I have quite a lot to do and quite a lot of appointments, I decdided to write ahead, in order not to forget. Hey, a rhyme in the end and not a word bend (sorry, couldn't resist)....
