Germany has got me back

But it was certainly great in London. I love London. Great town. Saw a lot. Walked a lot. Took the bus a lot.
And it was different to travel with my sister and her teen-kids, because they see things in a different way and  they realize other things than I do.
So, in a way, it was for me a completely new way of seeing London. A bit like being there for the first time. I certainly saw the Globe-Theatre for the first time. Great fun all around.
Well perhaps not for my feet, they still ache and don't like long standing, but for every other part of me. Just fun.
AND I found 7 new books to read, so that's fine as well. Though one book I might have already. Ah well. I'll just sell it, if it is true.

So, for a change, I will post some London-Photos, that I actually DO own, but I will - perhaps also post a film that I don't own. Something french though. Photos first:

Forget the blooming photos. My computer seems incable to just copy and paste and in order to get them from my phone to his site I'd have to download an app, and THAT I am not going to do. Dislike it very much.

So you have to imagine photos from Trafalgar Square, St. Pauls Cathedral, Globe Theatre and a red phone booth with a red double-decker-bus on the side (sounds like fries on the side, doesn't ist?

Therefore I go over to the film, that I don't own, because I am tired now.
We had a very nice hotel, the holiday inn express, but we decided to share a room with four persons. That does not sound to bad, only: there were only two beds and it was all very crammed. Two people had to sit on the bed, in order to let one person walk. BUT: apart from that it was a very nice and clean room and people at reception were no end helpful and friendly.
A little example: we arrived in London in the morning. But check-in was not before 2.00 pm. So we just went there, stored our luggage and went back into town. Check in, when we came back was made very easy as well.

The town was full, but not too much. Hardly any beggars. In 3 1/2 days I actually saw 2 persons that I might call that and they only sat there peacefully. Also: the town is very clean. And considering, that it is not always easy to find a trashcan when you want one, that is great work.

I would for instance to have liked a trash-can by a bank, when sitting in Hyde Park. Still: the park was very clean, so maybe people take more care there. On the othere hand: there are a lot of tourists and I am glad, that they actually behave themselves. Because it is not always the case with tourists, that they take care not to spread there trash.
Now for the: I do not own it film.. :-)

Holiday!! Celebrate!!

Don't own it

Well, today was my last day of work before my two-week holiday. And it is summer. And I couldn't find the song to the title, so it is Sir Cliff. Very nice.
I remember listening to this song on a tour in the winter. Not the last one, that one was in about 2008. But there was a lot of snow as well and my colleague and I sang that song. Lots of fun.

I would have written yesterday, but yesterday it was raining so hard, that I got soaked beyond the skin. Into the mark of my bones. Not nice. Not summer. On the other hand I do think, that the rain was really needed, so it was good it rained. I just would have preferred it, if I had not been caught in it. Somehow I think, that it should rain at night. So everyone who needs it gets rain and we others don't see it. A girl can dream. :-)

On another note: I did my work really well. Only a very few (2) mistakes. And so I told my parents, who oddly enough commented on that being two mistakes too many. Or do I mean too much? At any rate, I was really proud of myself, for not having made more than two and mild ones at that. And it really helped.

Now I am on holiday, the washing is being run through and in about 1 1/2 hour I shall hang it up and hope, that it will be dry tomorrow.
I shall also have to change some cash and get some walking sandals for people with swollen feet. My feet are swollen, my fingers built - partly - little bubbles. I call them beubonic plague, though they really are waterfilled bubbles that burst open. So my skin goes off on part on my fingers and off my right upper arm. The latter ist because of the already mentioned sunburn.
Still: life is great and soon I will be in London. That is great as well. I already had a London song. I'll snoop around for another one or some other nice song, neither of which I'll own... Bye...

Summertime

...... and the living is easy.....

(don't own it)

O.k., it is not easy for each and every one. For instance: if you have to work in great heat and that gets even hotter in summer, than the living is not easy. If you are working indoors, but the office heats up, it isn't all that bad, but easy it is not.

But: if you have time off and can keep in the shades or sit in a café, than it is easy. Last time I sat in the sun, I got a nasty sunburn, but I think, I already wrote that.

Since than I had my practical-exam and apart from a little confusion (that worked for me in the end), I got a result a 2,3 might be a B in other countries. I do not know, but it is about 80 % right. I am guessing here.

Still, I am happy about it. It won't help me in the end, as far as my written exam is concerned, but there I got some new information as well.
Should I be right - and unfortunately it still looks that way - and not have passed that exam, I might go back to where I came from. That is o.k. for me, as I liked the people and the work there. Mostly. And I wouldn't be doing the copying anymore, so that is good. Or I would go somewhere on the same level. I won't get the raise, but I won't loose by it. So I consider myself very lucky.
Also, there is an option to protest against the exam, should it not have been corrected in a fair way. So, I got a little further. Life is good, London is close, meaning my holiday there and I am happy and lazy and all that.

Now one last song, because it is late and I am almost falling asleep over my keybord. You know the deal by now: I don't own it yadda yadda yadda..

Sunburned

It was my very own fault, for not using sunscreen, so don't try this at home folks. I actually forgot to use it. And just last week I had admonished a friend of mine, for not using it. But anyway, now my arms are well and truly burned red. Not a pretty sight.
But: I slashed sum cooling creme on it, so it might get better soon. And as yet it doesn't hurt. So, I live and - hopefully learn from my fault. I usually use a very high SPF. Ah, well.

Other than that I can only tell you, that I am going a little more in the francophile direction. All due to Jenny Colgan. I had bought her - latest? - book " The loveliest chocolate Shop in Paris". And I can reall recommend it. You don't even have to like chocolate. I am not that much of a fan. But she writes in a very nice style and last year she won the Melissa Nathan Award. I did not know that, when I bought the book. But if I had, I would have bought any of her books at once. Not, that Melissa Nathan chooses the winners. She died about 7 years ago far too young, but she wrote direction as to who should be chosen. And her husband is one of the jurors, if I got that right. At any rate, Jenny Colgan deserved the prize. I am definitely buying more of her books.

At any rate, I got the french feeling again, I get it from time to time, if I hear a very nice song or see an old french film. Or a new one. They have a nice way about them and the music I found, is lovely. So, in a little way I will turn my thoughts to the lovely, rural parts of France, with lavendar fields and old houses and people going around on ther bycicles.

So, today, for a change, I will give you a piece of french, that I don't own.

I've been neglecting you

But I was in a sort of post-traumatic shock. As you might remember or not, I had to re-write one of my exams. So I dilligently prepared myself. Only to find, that they didn't choose the topics I could have answered very well indeed. Instead they decided on something, that I didn't have been prepared for and that was - in my oppinion not really a topic that should have been chosen.
Well, I thought to myself: never say die and did my very best. Which was not so very much and therefore I am pretty sure, that I didn't pass this again. Now, normally that would not be so very bad. And it is not existential, but having failed this exam means, that my apprenticeship was not successfully finalized. It also means, that I have laboured for three years and now stand there: with accumulated knowledge of three years, but not with any degree. And I could I called myself a Bachelorette of laws.

Ah well, on the upside: if I am right, I get 70 € back for the graduation-ceremonies, that I won't have to attend and I don't have to think about what to wear. Also, as I said, it is not exitential. Since I am already a civil servant for life - so to say (german term, hard to translate, really) - I will just go back to a job in the level I had before the apprenticeship. I won't get the raise, I won't get the interesting stuff to do, but I won't be thrown on the street either and join the ranks of people out of work. So I am actually very lucky. Then again, I usually am. Even when I have a mishap...

And, we have to remember, I did only write on Tuesday. I get the result in August. Also, there were several of the 14 people writing, who had the same problems, that I had. Maybe that counts. So: I might have the usual luck and just scrape by, with 4.0, meaning that I passed. Which to me is by far enough. I didn't mean to be brilliant, just give my best and that at least I did.

So, to end this on a happy note.... (as ever, I don't own the clip)
